ACC Power Rankings for Week 11, 2019
For once, I can say this has been a long time, I think we finally got a normal week of ACC football. No team won that in no way should have. However, in saying this I know that we will most likely get some upsets next week, and that is alright. Lets not look too far ahead of ourselves though. First let us go over the RedCupNews ACC Power Rankings going into Week 11:
ACC Atlantic:
- Clemson (9-0, 6-0)
- Wake Forest (7-1, 3-1)
- Louisville (5-3, 3-2)
- Boston College (5-4, 3-3)
- Florida State (4-5, 3-4)
- NC State (4-4, 1-3)
- Syracuse (3-6, 0-5)
ACC Coastal:
- Virginia (6-3, 4-2)
- Pittsburgh (6-3, 3-2)
- Virginia Tech (5-3, 1-2)
- North Carolina (4-5, 3-3)
- Duke (4-4, 2-3)
- Miami (5-3, 3-3)
- Georgia Tech (2-6, 1-4)
Thoughts on the Atlantic:
-Clemson had an absolute cupcake of a team in Wofford. You can’t really say much on the outcome of this game just due to Wofford being so low talent. I guess good record boosting win by this far-superior Clemson squad.
-Wake Forest manhandled NC State, making them look like a common low-level FBS opponent. The duo of Jamie Newman and Sage Surratt still is boasting itself to be one of the best in the entire Power-5. Will not be surprised if this Wake Forest team finishes in the 10-2 or 9-3 realm.
-Louisville was on a BYE.
-I feel like the Boston College football team just chills around their facilities and doesn’t actually do much until they feel slightly motivated to win a game. Some weeks this team looks unstoppable and could make a NY6 bowl. Yes, they legitimately play that well some weeks. However, they just aren’t consistent, but that doesn’t miscue their win.
-Florida State fired Willie Taggart. That pretty much sums up how much of a wreck their program is currently.
-NC State is an absolute joke this year. Any chance they get at a decent opponent in their conference and they just get made to look horrible. I will give them the benefit of the doubt, since their team is very young and injured.
-Syracuse, oh Syracuse. You have made yourself the new Virginia/Duke of the whole ACC. Congratulations on that.
Thoughts on the Coastal:
-Virginia decided to put on the jets at the end of the UNC game. Bryce Perkins is improving on what he had been showing us all season. I am liking this group to go on and win the division.
-Pittsburgh had a good, solid game against a less-than-savory Georgia Tech team. I think this is a step in the right direction for Pittsburgh after some trip ups against lesser teams.
-Virginia Tech should be 6-2 as of now. Their defense showed up for a large portion of the Notre Dame game, but some bad plays gave Notre Dame a late score to win. This squad should not be underestimated though.
-North Carolina cannot get on the better side of a close game if they wanted to when it comes to important ones. They have dropped two close and late games to Virginia and Virginia Tech. This is still a team that can win some more and do something special in a bowl game.
-Duke was on a BYE.
-Miami took down their in-state rival, Florida State, in commanding fashion. They actually whooped the Seminoles so bad that they ended up firing their head coach over it. Good win for the Hurricanes to hopefully propel them to a bowl appearance.
-Georgia Tech is really just here to ruin things for teams, or get absolutely demolished.
