ACC Power Rankings for Week 7, 2019
“Back in the air it goes” is a good way to describe the Coastal almost year in and year out. This phase of the season hit just this past weekend when we saw some of the front runners take some hits from lower teams. However, we still have an entire half season of football left to cover. Lets get into these rankings:
(Also, we understand the ACC posts had disappeared for about a week. We were experiencing some unknown troubles on our side, but they are all fixed now.)
ACC Atlantic:
- Clemson Tigers (5-0, 3-0)
- Wake Forest Demon Deacons (5-0, 1-0)
- Florida State Seminoles (3-2, 2-1)
- Louisville Cardinals (3-2, 1-1)
- Syracuse Orange (3-2, 0-1)
- NC State Wolfpack (3-2, 0-1)
- Boston College Eagles (3-3, 1-2)
ACC Coastal:
- Virginia Cavaliers (4-1, 2-0)
- Pittsburgh Panthers (4-2, 1-1)
- Duke Blue Devils (3-2, 1-1)
- Virginia Tech Hokies (3-2, 1-2)
- North Carolina Tarheels (3-3, 2-1)
- Miami Hurricanes (2-3, 0-2)
- Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (1-4, 0-2)
Thoughts on the Atlantic
Most of the Atlantic was on bye this week. However, a thriller between the Boston College Eagles and Louisville Cardinals came down to the end, with Louisville only sliding by with a 2-point win. Other than that there is nothing else to report on.
Thoughts on the Coastal
This week was a very peculiar week for the Coastal Division. First off, the Duke Blue Devils that man handled the Hokies 45-10 in Lane Stadium got trampled by the Pitt Panthers. It wasn’t even a decent showing for the Duke team that only lost by 3. Also, the Virginia Tech Hokies that everyone had riddled “a wreck” shot out the gate 28-0 against Miami with a +5 turnover margin for them that day. Not to mention, North Carolina’s Sam Howell seems to keep improving, this week against Georgia Tech with 4 Passing TDs.
