Teams on Upset Watch in Week 4
We were so close to at least getting two upsets with Virginia and Iowa. I could almost taste it, but I digress. This week is a fresh slate for many teams to get upset by their respective opponent. Lets take a peak at who has the best chance at being thrown off course:
Michigan Wolverines
A 3-point win against Army and a 19-point triumph against Middle Tennessee State aren’t necessarily the best resume builders. More importantly, the Wolverines have to take on #13 Wisconsin, who has yet to let up a score this year. On top of that, the Wolverines are 0-16 on the road against Top-25 opponents since 2006. This is looking like a clear upset in the making by the Badgers who will be looking to lock the top of their division early.
Auburn Tigers
There is always a chance of a SEC upset when two of the conference’s top dogs go at it. In this case, we have the Tigers of Auburn who have seemingly looked good all year going against Texas A&M, who’s only hiccup was against Clemson (not that shocking). However, don’t be surprised if we get a twisted game in which the Aggies take over and win this ball game.
Texas Longhorns
The Oklahoma State Cowboys are on a four game winning streak against the Longhorns ranging back to 2015. Even when the Cowboys are unranked, they seemingly find a way to pull off the upset against this Texas team. Both teams seem to know how to score efficiently, however it is all up to who can get enough stops on defense and that just might be Oklahoma State.
Arizona State Sun Devils
Yes, I said it. I think this Arizona State team is prone to upsets this early in the season. Let’s not forget that the PAC-12 often does this to us whenever it seems that the conference will make a big jump. The Sun Devils get Colorado, who averages 36.3 points game. That isn’t an inviting statistic to Arizona State, as their defense is used to only giving up 7 points a game. I don’t think that will be the case come Saturday night in Arizona.
