Kentucky Basketball Recruiting News
Basketball recruiting for Kentucky these past few years has not been as strong as us fans would like. Five out of the last six years, the Wildcats have finished with the second ranked recruiting class behind Duke. This year looks to change that trend. Here is a look at the guys who could be rocking Kentucky blue next season.
Already Committed Wildcats
To this day, we have seen three guys commit to Kentucky. Brandon Boston, the ninth ranked player in the class by ESPN, along with Lance Ware and Cam’ron Fletcher, two four-star forwards. Later this week it is expected that we will see another Wildcats commit in 2021 five-star Terrence Clarke, who also is a candidate to reclassify to the 2020 class.
Cade Cunningham
The number two ranked player in the class has been predicted to Oklahoma State for the past three months. Since Cunningham’s older brother was hired to the coaching staff for the Cowboys, he has been a near lock for them. As of late, that narrative has changed a bit. Cunningham has scheduled official visits with Florida, North Carolina, Washington, and Kentucky, along with Oklahoma State. He has also been adamant to the other schools recruiting him that his recruitment was not over. If he were to commit to Kentucky, he would be the next great Wildcats point guard.
Jalen Green/Josh Christopher
I put these two together because if one were to choose Kentucky, I couldn’t see a situation where the other doesn’t. They have both expressed their interest in teaming up in college. Based on the official visits the duo have scheduled, the only place for that to happen would be in Lexington. However, 247 Sports’ Evan Daniels seems to think that if Terrence Clarke picks the Wildcats this Saturday, that Kentucky will end their pursuit of Green and Christopher.
