Georgia Bulldogs Weekly Report
Excitement brews as recruits commit and Smart rewards players
Athens has not faced any major events this week. Although hype is quickly building up as football season approaches, the Bulldog Weekly Report will be updating you on all the predictions and information about Georgia Football. Kirby Smart fueled the hype as he was a guest speaker at the Freshman welcome. He reminded the students of the importance to come out and support the Dawgs on Saturdays. Coach Smart put an emphasis on the Notre Dame game, which will definitely be the biggest game of the season for the Dawgs.
In Recruiting, Georgia was able to secure a 4-star recruit. Sedrick Van Pran is attending Warren Easton High School and will graduate in 2020. He is the number three center in the nation and ranked 101 in the nation overall. Huge addition to UGA’s already solid offensive line classes.
In other news, Georgia had multiple players make it on the Preseason All-American Team. Andrew Thomas was the only one to make it on to the first team. The second team consisted of D’andre Swift, Rodrigo Blankenship, J.R. Reed, and Solomon Kindley. It will be exciting to see if these players and live up to the hype this year.
To wrap up this Bulldog Weekly Report, Kirby Smart did a fun 4×100 game for the players at the end of practice the other day. Instead of making the players do sprints at the end of practice, he did a players vs. coaches race. Coach Smart had a trick up his sleeve as he brought in a track star to run for him. Matthew Boling is a freshman runner at UGA and he is setting national records as well as leaving Georgia players in the dust.
