College Gameday Predictions for Week 6 of the 2019 CFB Season
Week 6 has a lot of solid games, but no ringers. Could go a lot of ways.
Auburn @ Florida
Despite being one of CFB’s best historical rivalries, Auburn hasn’t come to the Swamp since 2007, and probably won’t return in the foreseeable future. Both teams look to trot out competitive SEC teams. Outside of the easy wins, Auburn will need to beat Oregon/Texas A&M to be undefeated heading into the matchup. Florida will have 3 tough, but winnable games Vs. Tennessee, Miami, and Kentucky. If both teams can be 4-1 or 5-0 heading into the matchup, this will likely get the nod.
Chance: 35%
Texas @ West Virginia
WVU took down Texas last season in one of the best games of the year and the Longhorns will be looking for revenge against a rebuilding team. Texas is a Big 12 contender and will likely be 4-1 or 5-0 heading into the game depending on how Week 2 vs. LSU goes. With a cupcake start to the season of JMU/Missouri/NC State/and Kansas, it isn’t wild to think WVU will be 4-0 coming into this game. Morgantown had an electric gameday in 2014 making this feasible if Auburn or Florida have early season struggles.
Chance: 25%
Michigan State @ Ohio State
Ohio State is a CFB Contender and Michigan State has a chance to be one of the best defensive teams in the nation. This would be a very compelling matchup between two teams looking compete for the Big Ten Championship. Ohio State would likely be the +10-14 Favorites at home making this less likely.
Chance: 25%
Georgia @ Tennessee
Tennessee is Back? Probably not, but they should be somewhat competitive this season. Maybe even ranked. If Tennessee takes down Florida, putting them at 4-0 heading into Week 6, and Georgia is 4-0 after beating ND, this may get some love for gameday.
Chance: 10%
Washington @ Stanford
Eh. Two teams that will likely be ranked and competing for the PAC 12 Title. Can’t really see this getting legit interest due to the depth this week, but it at least deserves recognition.
Chance: 10%
