Kerry Blackshear Jr. Has Committed To Florida. Have The Gators Become a Contender?
Major news today after a slow College Basketball month as the consensus No. 1 Transfer on the Market Kerry Blackshear Jr. will reportedly commit to Florida. The 6’9″ Big Man averaged 14.9-7.5-2.3 last season and is on a short list of All American Candidates entering the 2019-2020 season.
Blackshear joins a team that returns promising rising sophomores in Andrew Nembhard (8.0-2.9-5.4), Noah Locke (9.4-2.5-0.6), and Keyontae Johnson (8.1-6.1-1.3) as well as the No. 10 Prospect in the nation in Scottie Lewis.
Coach Mike White on Blackshear: “Skilled post player that you can run offense through. He can score with his back to the basket, at the elbow or extend to beyond the 3-point line. Extremely high basketball IQ.
Florida will likely be a top 10 team entering next season with Kentucky as the only SEC team likely to be ahead of them.
