Brandon Clarke NBA Scouting Report and Pro Comparison
Measurables:
- Age: 22
- Height: 6’8.25″
- Wingspan: 6’8.25″
- Weight: 207 LBs
Strengths:
Has shown a very good mid range.
Solid ball handler. Can drive off of the dribble.
Nice touch finishing around the basket.
Tremendous timing as a shot-blocker/rim protector.
Covers a lot of ground as a defender. Super versatile for a big.
Weaknesses:
Not ideal size for a big man. Short arms limit potential.
Older prospect (will turn 23 in September.)
3PT shot is a work in progress. Limits ability to play the Forward slots.
Struggles to create shots offensively.
Pro Comparison:
Jordan Bell 2.0
Undersized for big men, Bell and Clarke both have pogo sticks for legs and can contest shots at a high rate. Offensively, they have some polish and can use their quickness to get around bigger defenders. Clarke is a bit more versatile as a defender and has potential to be a very good shooter.
NBA Draft Outlook:
8-17 Range.
Ideal Fits:
Atlanta at 8 or 10:
Atlanta is looking for a defensive anchor and Clarke would be a great fit. His mobility and and defensive versatility would be a huge pickup for the young team. With one of the best passers in the league in Trae Young, Clarke’s lack of shot creation will be minimized.
Charlotte at 12:
Charlotte is looking for building blocks and Clarke would be a modern NBA Big Man that could be their defensive anchor moving forward. Rather than taking a swing on an 18 year old, they could choose a high floor guy in Clarke who can play NBA minutes Day 1. Clarke would have an opportunity to play starters minutes immediately. Would be a Dark Horse for ROTY.
