Cameron Johnson NBA Scouting Report and Pro Comparison
Measurables:
- Age: 23
- Height: 6’7″
- Wingspan: 6’10”
- Weight: 205 LBs
Strengths:
Probably the most NBA ready shooter in the class.
Very efficient. 50.6/45.7/81.8 Clip.
Decent size to potentially play 2-4.
Solid defender.
Weaknesses:
Can be passive offensively. Struggles to create his own shot.
Offers little as a shot blocker. Limits ability to play PF.
Very old prospect at 23. Not a super high ceiling.
NBA Comparison:
More Athletic Doug McDermott
Effective floor-stretchers and off-ball-scorers who can hold their own playing 2-4. Average athletes, they rely on high basketball IQs and good size defensively.
NBA Outlook:
Late First Round – Very Early Second
Ideal Fits:
Johnson would honestly be a great fit almost anywhere. Versatile role player with a great jump shot.
OKC at 21:
OKC had a major hole at the SG slot and would benefit from Johnson’s ability to effect the game off-ball on a team that features George and Westbrook. As the Thunder try to make a deep playoff run, Johnson would be a immediate contributor late in the draft.
Portland at 25:
Portland didn’t get any consistent production from their Forwards in the playoffs. Rather than get a young project at 25, they could get a potential starter who could space the floor and make life easier on Dame/CJ.
Milwaukee at 30:
Khris Middleton is probably coming back, but you never know. The Bucks have seemed to instill a 4-out 1-in Offense around Giannis and Johnson would be a perfect compliment on a team that values versatility.
