Struggles to switch on guards.
NBA Comparison:
Bam Adebayo
Both are 6’10” Athletic Rim-Runners with massive wingspans who rely heavily on their athleticism. Can create some offense from the low post. Perimeter defense and shooting is a work in progress which limits their ceilings.
NBA Draft Outlook:
Late First-Early Second.
Ideal Fits:
Cleveland at 26:
Cleveland has a major hole at center and Gafford would be a nice young pickup. He can play immediately and get a chance to develop offensively.
Golden State at 28:
Center has been a major hole on the Warriors since Boogie went down. Has it mattered? Not at all, but why not pick up an athletic big man who can get rebounds and block shots for stretches. This is an ideal spot for Gafford to land.
Dallas at 37:
Porzingis benefited from Robin Lopez in New York and he would benefit from a center like Gafford in Dallas. Someone to do the dirty work. Mostly set screens and get tough rebounds. Mavs have a big hole at center and Gafford would fit in perfectly if he falls to 37.
