Dylan Windler NBA Scouting Report and Pro Comparison
Measurements:
- Age: 22
- Height: 6’7.5″
- Wingspan: 6’10”
- Weight: 195 LBs
Strengths:
Very Efficient Player. 54.0/42.9/84.7 Clip Senior Season.
Projects as a very good shooter. Can hit with a hand in his face.
Fantastic rebounder (10.8 RPG). Hustle and timing is very good.
Smart playmaker. Limits turnovers.
He’s a lefty, which makes him crafty.
Weaknesses:
Older prospect. Will be 23 at start of season.
Decent defender but lacks quickness to cover NBA athletes.
Played in Ohio Valley conference. Didn’t see a lot of top talent.
Pro Comparison:
Shane Battier
A 6’8″ combo forward that makes their money off stretching the floor and hustle plays. Windler has a lot of work to do before he can be as crafty as Battier defensively, but he is likely a better rebounder Day 1. Battier did a good job of being a pest defensively which is a skill that will determine Windler’s playing time early on.
NBA Draft Outlook:
Early-Mid Second Round
Ideal Fits:
Phoenix at 32:
Phoenix has some potential stars in place and needs to collect some role players. Windler can stretch the floor for Ayton/Booker and can make an impact off-ball. He could get some major playing time before he’s playing meaningful minutes (The Suns Suck).
Atlanta at 35, 41, and 44:
Hawks have a pretty shallow bench on the wing and Windler would make life easier offensively. With two lottery picks, they will have some young guys coming in so they may not care about taking an older prospect in Windler.
