Luguentz Dort NBA Scouting Report and Pro Comparison
Measurables:
- Age: 20
- Height: 6’4.25″
- Wingspan: 6’8.5″
- Weight: 225 LBs
Strengths:
Great size for an NBA Combo Guard.
At his best driving to the rim. Can finish through contact and get to the line.
Could be elite NBA defender. Potentially guard 1-4.
Plus rebounder.
Weaknesses:
Hasn’t developed as a shooter. 40.5/30.7/70.0 Clip.
Can potentially be secondary ball handler, but doesn’t have Point Guard playmaking skills.
Foul Prone.
Often plays out of control offensively.
NBA Comparison:
Lance Stevenson
Talented but out of control slashers who rely on their size and strength. Defensively they are fantastic when locked in. Versatile enough to guard multiple positions and able to put up 15-5-5 on a nightly basis. Lance is much more developed as a playmaker, but Dort has shown potential in that department.
NBA Outlook:
25-40.
Ideal Fits:
Phoenix at 32:
Dort and Booker would form a complimentary offense-defense backcourt on a team with very little guard depth. At only 20, he fits well with the Sun’s rebuilding team and potentially find a long-term role.
Dallas at 37:
Dort would be a great fit in the Dallas lineup next to offense-first Tim Hardaway Jr. and Star Playmaker Luka Doncic. He could (eventually) take on the opposing team’s top offensive player and conserve Doncic. With Jalen Brunson as the only healthy PG on the roster, Dort could play rotational minutes immediately.
