Louis King NBA Scouting Report and Pro Comparison
Measurables:
Via NBA
- Age: 20
- Height: 6’8″
- Wingspan: 7’0.25″
- Weight: 195
Strengths:
Great size for a Wing.
Very young (Just turned 20 in April). High ceiling for draft projection.
Great athlete. Uses length well.
Not there yet, but has a ton of potential as a defender.
Really good shooter. Has a nice release and uses his length well.
Struggled to start season, but got progressively better and finished strong.
Weaknesses:
Turnover prone for a wing.
Was completely quiet some games. Was passive at times.
Offers little as a playmaker.
Rarely gets to the line. Only 2 FTA per game in over 30 MPG.
Pro Comparison:
James Ennis/Poor Man’s Jeff Green
King is a little further along as a shooter than these guys we’re at 20, however their frames and play-styles are very similar. Long athletic forwards that have a knack for scoring, but struggle to create offense for themselves or others.
Draft Outlook:
Likely Mid-Late Second. Could sneak in anywhere after 35-40 if a team reaches.
Ideal Fits:
Philadelphia at 42 or 54:
Philly is full of ball dominant stars in Simmons and Embiid and could use some 3-D depth. King could finish off open looks and wouldn’t be relied on to initiate offense.
Indiana at 50:
Bogdanovic is a free agent this offseason and would leave a major whole to fill. King would do well in the fast paced offense due to his athleticism and length. He would be an interesting Small Ball 4 next to Turner or Sabonis.
