Notable Recruiting News From 5/20
Monster Day for the SEC as all 5 notable prospects went to SEC schools.
CFB:
The Nation’s No. 1 OG Justin Rogers has signed with Kentucky. Their highest ranked recruit in school history. Although he is listed as an OG, there are reports that he may play DT/DE at Kentucky. Kentucky now has the No. 35 class in the nation.
4 Star WR Thaiu Jones-Bell has commited to Alabama. At a stocky 5’11”, he tracks the ball very well and has shown really polished cuts on his routes from what I have seen. Reminds me a bit A.J. Brown who played at Ole Miss last season. Alabama now has the No. 2 class in the nation trailing only the stacked Clemson class.
4 Star DB Joel Williams has committed to Florida. After losing a ton of young talent to transfers, this was much needed. At 6’1″ with long arms and a solid frame, Williams will be able to line up at Safety or Corner. The Gators surprisingly have the No. 6 recruiting class in the nation.
Georgia picked up the Nations No. 5 DT in 4 Star Jalen Carter. The Florida native has good mobility (Did you see that Dunk?) for his massive 6’4″ 305 LB frame and brings Georgia’s class to 5th in the nation.
CBB:
LSU picked up one of the top remaining 2019 prospects in the class in No. 17 Trendon Watford. The 6’9″ PF will play major minutes with Naz Reid and Tremont Waters going pro and Mays/Williams/Taylor still testing draft waters. A very fluid ball handler and slasher for his size, Watford is a potential 1st round prospect in the 2020 Draft.
