Mick Cronin Leaves Bearcats for UCLA
After what seemed like an eternity for the Bruins to find a new head coach, the team got news that Mick Cronin would be their new head coach. Mick Cronin is a former head coach of Cincinnati for thirteen seasons. Cronin is a very competitive coach and UCLA is hoping he can bring that back to the program.
In his thirteen seasons at Cincinnati, Cronin led the Bearcats to nine tournament appearances (One Sweet Sixteen), two 30-win seasons, and seven 20-win seasons. It is no surprise why Cronin became the perfect pick to take the job. His coaching methods may be very controversial, but it safe to say that UCLA is ready to get to winning already.
Mick Cronin will be paid a sum of 24 million over a span of six years, with negotiations after that set term. This will, of course, be bumped up before that sixth year as bonuses run in if Cronin succeeds. Potentially, Cronin could get up to be in the top-10 highest paid coaches.
How will UCLA do now with a historic coach? Will UCLA take the PAC-12 back over in its former glory? Let us know in the comments below and don’t forget to follow us on Instagram @redcupcollegesports.
