With today’s news of Lamont West and Andrew Gordon leaving the program, WVU now has 7 open scholarship spots for next season. Tshibwe and McBride will obviously be taking two of those, but Huggins has to find 5 more players who can fill short-term and long-term holes in WVU’s rebuild.

Not a lot of bodies……
Here are some players that rank highly on WVU’s big board and have a very good chance of wearing Gold and Blue next season.
Spencer Macke (Walk-On) 6’2” Guard
Macke put up some wild stats for a 9-18 small school in Kentucky last season to the tone of 34.9 PPG and 15.8 RPG including a 61 and 27 game to end the season. Don’t really know what to make of those numbers to be honest, but based on the little tape I’ve seen on him and those rebounding numbers, he’s a scrappy guard who Huggins can mold into a solid player.
Sean McNeil (JUCO) 6’4” Guard
3 Years of Eligibility
After committing to a DII school, he decided last minute to go JUCO and hopefully get on a DI team. After a great season averaging 29.7 PPG and shooting 43.1% from 3, he has about 15 offers. WVU made the final 6 and has an outside shot of landing the JUCO Transfer.
Taizmel Sherman (JUCO) 6’4” Guard
3 Years of Eligibility
Sherman has been rising of late and became one of the better JUCO recruits in nation. WVU is believed to be among his top potential landing spots in addition to TTU, SMU, and Utah. He is an efficient shooter and hard-nosed defender that is likely the most “game ready” on this list.
Clarence Nadolny 6’3” Guard
4 Years of Eligibility
The 6’2” French Combo Guard is currently playing at a prep school in PA and has broken out in his senior season. He could be a good developmental guard to replace Trey Doomes. Yesterday Nadolny announced that TTU, Iowa State, and WVU are the final 3 destinations.
Kenyon Martin Jr. 6’7” Forward
4 Years of Eligibility
Son of former No. 1 overall pick and Bob Huggins player Kenyon Martin, WVU may have a leg up on the talented wing. He is ranked as the 233rdprospect in the class and 43rdamong Power Forwards on 247 Sports.com. Martin is a raw athletic player who will need to develop offensively to play right away in WVU’s crowded front court, but could be a huge pickup down the road.
