Martell Granted Eligibility For 2019 Season
This week, the NCAA has decided to grant former Ohio State QB, Tate Martell, athletic eligibility for the 2019 football season. The decision on whether or not Martell would be able play next season was up in the air, as people in his situation haven’t normally gotten the go-ahead. However, Martell had met the guidelines of the transfer waiver to be eligible for the 2019 season, so he was granted full eligibility for the season.
The Hurricanes have taken this as the best of news for their spring practice competition at the quarterback spot coming up. Martell will go to battle against N’Kosi Perry and Jarren Williams for the starting spot. Many are already going out on a limb and saying that Martell has landed himself the spot just by transferring. This is an easy assumption to make, as the Hurricanes have struggled to develop a statement quarterback since Brad Kaaya.
Do you think Martell can lead this Miami team to win their division title? Or will he flunk out of a starting spot and disappoint many? Let us know in the comments below and make sure to follow us on Instagram @redcupcollegesports.
