West Coast Conference Tournament Day 4 Preview and Predictions
After Day 3 of the West Coast Conference both teams of higher seeds were upset. Pepperdine continued their magical run beating San Francisco. While San Diego continued an impressive run of their own beating BYU.
Pepperdine(16-17)(6-10 Conf.) vs Gonzaga(29-2)(16-0 Conf.)
Pepperdine had a very good run, but it will end here. Gonzaga is a very good team and it shows that in the stats. The Bulldogs get it done on both end of the floor. Gonzaga averages 89 points a game and only allows 64 points a game. While Pepperdine only averages 75 points a game and allows 73 points a game. Pepperdine had a very good run, but Gonzaga will put a beating on them in this game. Bulldogs: 84 Waves: 63
San Diego(21-13)(7-9 Conf.) vs Saint Mary’s(20-11)(11-5 Conf.)
San Diego has been on a tear as of late and getting wins by playing hard on the defensive end. In their game against BYU, San Diego held the Cougars to 5% from the three point line and 31% from the field. If San Diego could do this against the Gaels, they will win this game. For San Diego this should not be too hard of a task, as Saint Mary’s only averages 73 points a game and shot 38% from three in their last matchup between each other. I think San Diego will win this game and do it on the defensive end. Gaels: 65 Toreros:70
