Texas Tech Sweeps Main Big 12 Awards
It was once again a crazy season for the Big 12 that featured Kansas streak ending at 14. Baylor was projected to finish 9th at the beginning of the season and lost starters Jake Lindsey and Tristan Clark.
The Bears finished 4th. And the boys from Lubbock that was projected to finish 7th ended up winning a share of the Big 12 Title and getting some postseason accolades as well.
Kansas State and Texas Tech shared the title and were lead by 2 star guards that were the headlines of the conference for most of the year. For the player of the year, Culver finished with 18.3 PPG, 6.2 RPG, and 3.6 APG. Culver could hold his own on the defensive end as well as he finished 2nd on the team in steals and 3rd in Defensive Rating.
For Barry Brown, it’s a season he’s been waiting for since stepping on the court for the first time at Kansas State. Brown led his team in Points, 2nd in assists, and is one of the better rebounders in the conference. Barry is the best on ball guard defender in the conference and the senior captain has gotten his due with the Defensive Player of the Year.
