West Coast Conference Tournament Day 3 Preview and Predictions
Day two of the West Coast Conference tournament was full of upsets. As both lower seeds won their games. San Diego had an emphatic win over Loyola Marymount, while Pepperdine upset Santa Clara winning by three points in a very close game.
Pepperdine(15-17)(6-10 Conf.) vs San Francisco(21-9)(9-7 Conf.)
One thing that Pepperdine did very well in their upset win over Loyola Marymount, was shooting the basketball. The Waves shot 52% from the field and 52% from the three point line last night. This is something Pepperdine is going to do have to as San Fransisco has a very good defense. The Dons are only allowing 67 points a game this year and never allowed more than 80 points in the teams two regular season games. Pepperdine will fight hard in this game, but will not shoot as well as they did against Loyola Marymount and lose a close game to San Fransisco. Dons: 76 Waves: 69
San Diego(20-13)(7-9 Conf) vs BYU(19-12)(11-5 Conf.)
In both of these blow out games that San Diego has won, the Toreros have shot very well from the three point line. They are going to have to keep this up if they are going to keep up with the offensive production of BYU. The Cougars have a very good offense averaging 79 points a game and have two players who average at least 18 points a game in Yoeli Childs and TJ Haws. San Diego will make this game close but Yoeli Childs will have a big game in a close BYU win. Cougars: 81 Toreros: 75
