West Coast Conference Tournament Day 1 Preview and Predictions
The West Coast Conference is a relatively small conference and is usually dominated by Gonzaga. Besides Gonzaga and maybe Saint Mary’s the other teams in this conference have to win this conference tournament to get to the NCCA Tournament. So that means these teams journey toward that goal starts now.
Pacific(14-17)(4-12 Conf.) VS Pepperdine(13-17)(6-10 Conf.)
Pacific or Pepperdine have both not had great seasons. Both teams have very poor stats on defense and offense. Looking at the stats, Pepperdine wins by a lot as they are better than Pacific in offensive and defensive categories, but I am not so sold on that. Two of Pacific’s four conference wins this year is over Pepperdine. Both games in the regular season were close and I think this game will be too. I’m going with Roberto Gallant and the Tigers to move on to Day 2. Tigers: 67 Waves:63
Portland(7-24)(0-16 Conf.) VS San Diego(18-13)(7-9 Conf.)
Portland has had a awful season losing 16 straight games and I give them no chance to beat San Diego. Portland has had one of the worse defenses in College Basketball, giving up 74 points a game. Isaiah Pineiro and the San Diego offense should have a field day with this weak of a defense and will get an easy win. Toreros: 75 Pilots: 62
