Zion Williamson Out With “Mild Knee Sprain”
Early on in the Duke-North Carolina game, we saw Zion Williamson go down in an awkward fashion. As soon as he hit the ground, his hands grasped around his knee as if he was in pain. Zion was then taken off of the floor and back into the team’s facilities. Time passed on and we heard nothing from Zion, however, the Blue Devils were struggling to keep themselves alive against the Tarheels.
We soon found out that Zion Williamson would not be returning to the game that night. What we saw was a playing style of hopeless and a state of unpreparedness for a game without Zion. The Blue Devil’s time soon ran out and the score sat at 88-72 that night.
We now know Zion’s injury to be a “mild knee sprain”. This could keep him out for 2-4 week if it involved his MCL or LCL. However, if Duke is keeping under wraps the severity of his injury, Zion may not be able to return to the court for 12 months based on other severe knee injuries pertaining sprains. Whichever the case is, I think we all would like to wish Zion a speedy recovery after his injury last night.
