No. 19 Maryland Takes on the Wisconsin Badgers
No. 19 Maryland (14-3) will host Wisconsin (11-5) tonight in what will be a great matchup. The Terrapins are coming off a slim win against the Hoosiers of Indiana with a score of 78-75. And the Badgers will try to reel in after a disappointing overtime loss to Purdue.
How Maryland Can Win
Keep on this pattern. It has shown, especially this season, that when the Terrapins have an off game, they bounce right back. This will come through playing quick offense and grabbing lots of rebounds from Wisconsin. However, Maryland will look no further than Anthony Cowan at guard to help them outscore the Badgers.
How Wisconsin Can Win
Play tough, physical and slow down the game. Wisconsin has shown us that they are a team willing to battle you in the trenches. If the Badgers want to deal a win, they need to do exactly that. Forward Ethan Happ will need to maintain his role of running all sides of the ball and only then will the Badgers win.
Players to Watch:
Maryland: The man that runs the center spot for Maryland, Bruno Fernando, will come into importance. Fernando secured the win for the Terrapins last game against Indiana with his strong performance under the basket. If Wisconsin doesn’t keep an eye on Fernando down low, it’ll be a very long game for Wisconsin.Wisconsin: It shows that Ethan Happ is this whole team win and lose. When going against a team that’ll like to speed the process, Happ will have to slow it down. Also, look for Happ to try to do it all for the Badgers in crunch time.
Score Prediction:
Maryland is rolling right now and will continue this trend. Wisconsin is a good team, but their depth isn’t enough to overcome Maryland. It’ll show to be a game early, then Maryland will take over to dominate. Maryland 77, Wisconsin 64
