No.7 Kansas Takes on No.25 TCU in Big 12 Play
After a blowout 77-60 upset loss to Iowa State, No.7 Kansas (12-2) (1-1) looks to get back on track in Big 12 play versus TCU. After starting out undefeated in Big 12 play, TCU (12-1)(1-0) looks to show they are a legit team with an upset win over Kansas.
Why Kansas Can Win:
With the loss of Udoka Azibukie for the season Kansas will have to find a way to keep their rebounding production up. Right now the Jayhwaks average around 39 rebounds a game. Kansas should also be able to take advantage of a middle of the pack TCU defense as the Horn Frogs give up 66 points a game.
Why TCU Can Win:
If TCU wants to show their legit they must take advantage of a weak Kansas defense as the Jayhawks give up 69 points a game good for 110th in the nation. With weapons like Desmond Bane, Alex Robinson, Kouat Noi, Jaylen Fisher, and JD Miller who all average above 10 points a game, TCU should be able to take advantage of this lackluster Kansas defense.
Players to Watch:
With Udoka Azibukie out for the rest of the season Kansas needs Dedric Lawson to continue his production for this game and the rest of the season. Lawson averages 18 points, 11 rebounds, and two assists while shooting 50% from the field so far this season.
If TCU wants to pull of an upset I think they need a big game from Jaylen Fisher. Fisher has averaged 12 points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal while shooting only 41% from the field.
Score Prediction:
I feel like their is a upset brewing down in Forth Worth. I just think the loss of Uduoka Azibuike and Kanas’s lackluster defense will be too much for Kansas. I think TCU will defend home court and get the upset. Jayhawks: 80 Horned Frogs: 83
