No.10 Virginia Tech (12-1) (1-0) destroyed Notre Dame in their first game of ACC play and looks to start out undefeated in ACC play. While Boston College (9-3) looks to get a upset win on the road after just getting upset by Hartford.
How Virginia Tech Can Win:
The Hokies should be able to take advantage of a very weak Boston College defense who gives up 70 points a game. Virginia Tech must get better on the boards as Boston College averages 40 rebounds a game while Virginia Tech only averages 32 rebounds a game. If Virginia Tech wants to win this game they need win the rebounding battle.
How Boston College Can Win:
Boston College looks statically outmatched on both ends of the floor. The one advantage the Eagles do have is rebounding, the Eagles average 40 rebounds a game while Virginia Tech only averages 32 a game. The Eagles are also going to have to find a way to score against a Virginia Tech defense that allows only 57 points a game.
Players to Watch:
If Virginia Tech wants to avoid an upset they need a big game from Nickeil Alexander-Walker. Alexander-Walker has averaged 18 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals so far this season.
If Boston College wants to get a upset win on the road they need a more efficient game from Ky Bowman. Bowman has averaged 20 points, seven rebounds, and three assists but only shooting 43% from the field.
