No.1 Kansas Takes on No.18 Arizona State
No.1 Kansas (10-0) is coming off a dominant win over South Dakota while No.18 Arizona State (8-2) is reeling after getting upset by Vanderbilt.
How Arizona State Can Win:
The Sun Devils heavily rely on their offense to make up for a middle of the pack defense. That’s gonna have to change vs Kansas as the Jayhawks have a high powered offense that averages 81.7 points a game. The Jayhawks also have a lot of individual weapons in Dedric Lawson and Lagerald Vick. If the Sun Devils want to win they will have to play good defense against a high scoring offensive team.
How Kansas Can Win:
Like Arizona State, Kansas has a high octane offense of their own averaging 87 points a game. So like Arizona State, Kansas is gonna have to play very good defense and stop some of Kansas’s weapons in Luguentz Dort, Kiamni Lawrence and Zylan Cheatham. If the Jayhawks wants to win they can not allow the Sun Devils to score 81 points or more.
Players to Watch:
For Kansas Dedric Lawson will have to continue to play well as he has averaged 19 points and 11 rebounds while shooting 50% from the field so far this season. Kansas needs this kind’ve of production to go on the road and beat ASU.
Arizona State needs Luguentz Dort, as in their last loss to Vanderbilt, Dort only had 10 points on 3-13 shooting. Dort who averages 19 points and 5 rebounds on the season needs more of those stats if ASU wants to win.
Score Prediction:
This game will come down to which team plays the best defense and with ASU losing 2 out of their last 3 games. I’m gonna go with Kansas most due to the fact that the Jayhawks have been way more constituent this season than Arizona State. Sundevils: 82 Jayhawks: 86
