No.2 Duke Looks to Hand No.12 Texas Tech Their First Loss
No.2 Duke (10-1) is coming off a dominant 101-50 win over Princeton, while No.12 Texas Tech (10-0) is coming off a 82-48 win over Abilene Christian.
Why Duke Can Win:
This Duke team can hurt you in a variety of ways, rather its from R.J. Barrett to Zion Williamson, Cam Reddish or Tre Jones this team is loaded. So basically winning games comes down to if Duke is hitting their shots or not. As shown in their only loss to Gonzaga earlier in the season, the Blue Devils lost basically because of Barrett, Reddish, and Williamson shooting poor percentages from the field. Making Tre Jones be the main playmaker on the Duke offensive end. If Duke can avoid that they will cruise to another win.
Why Texas Tech Can Win:
This is gonna be a tough task for Texas Tech. As Duke can beat you in a variety of ways, but if Texas Tech wants to win they need to find some way on the defensive end to make Tre Jones Duke’s main playmaker. If any team can do that it would be the Red Raiders as they give up the least amount points in the nation as teams have scored an average of 51 points a game on them. If Texas Tech can do what they do all season they might have a chance to beat the best team in the nation.
Players to Watch:
Texas Tech is gonna need another big game out of Jarrett Culver as the sophomore guard has averaged 19 points, five rebounds, and four assists so far this year.
Duke needs Cam Reddish to produce in this game, as Reddish has averaged 14 points a game this season. With playing a good defensive team like Texas Tech, the Blue Devils need Reddish to produce.
Score Prediction:
Duke will get a big night from Zion Williamson and R.J. Barrett but I don’t think it will be enough as Texas Tech will lock down the rest of Duke’s scorers and will win a low scoring affair in Madison Square Garden. Blue Devis: 60 Red Raiders: 64
