No.11 Florida State Takes on the UConn Huskies
No.11 Florida State (7-1) coming off a very dominant win against Troy while UConn (7-2) bounced back with their own dominant win versus Lafayette.
Why Flordia State Can Win:
UConn allows a very bad 73 points a game which should allow Flordia State’s weapons in Terance Mann, Mfiondu Forrest, and M.J. Walker to have their way. The Noles also will have to play really good defense versus a high scoring UConn offense who puts up 85 points a game. Florida State also will have to shoot a higher three point percentage as they shot less than 40% in their last game vs Troy.
How UConn Can Win:
UConn can score at will and if they can exploit a mediocre Florida State defense this Seminole team could be in trouble. The Huskies also need to play defense versus a very good offensive team in Florida State who averages 78 points a game. If UConn can slow down Terrence Mann this will go a long way into upsetting Florida State.
Players to Watch:
Flordia State: The Noles need Terrence Mann to have a big game as on the season he averages 11 points a game with seven rebounds and 49% shooting. If Florida State wants to avoid a upset they need a big game from Mann.
UConn: We all know Jalen Adams will put up numbers, but how much help he gets is the most important factor. So Christian Vital is the best option on the team to do that as he averages 12 points a game with five rebounds on 43% shooting. If the Huskies want to pull off a the upset a big game from Vital will help.
Score Prediction:
UConn has shown they can beat some of the top talent in the ACC beating Syracuse 83-76 earlier this year but have also shown some inconsistencies in losses to Iowa and Arizona. I think that FSU will be ready for the high scoring UConn attack and have a high scoring game of their own. Huskies: 86 Seminoles: 91
