No. 15 Virginia Tech Demolishes VMI

The 15th ranked Hokies improve to 7-1 after defeating VMI 89-68. A few big runs gave the Hokies the leads and offensive runs they needed to win.
Game Recap
For about 80% of the game the Hokies played lock down defense. Virginia Tech held VMI to only 21 points in the first half compared to the Hokies 42 points. VMI was shooting a total of 29% in the first half, and they were 18% from behind the arc. The Hokies were shooting 46% overall and 47% from 3. The Hokies started fast in the 2nd half as well as VMI continued to struggle on offense. To open up the half Virginia Tech went on a 14-0 run. At one point Virginia Tech lead by 37. VMI made some adjustment to their play mid way through the 2nd and ended up improving to 43% overall and 24% from 3. VMI brought the lead to 19 at one point but in the end they lost by 21.

Red Cups Player of the Game is PG Justin Robinson. Justin tallied 18 points, 5 assists, and 1 steel. Justin only made 3 field goals, all 3 pointers, but his 9 made free-throws is what gave him the impressive 18 points.
