Should Georgia Have Made it Into the CFP?
Personally I feel like Georgia should be in the College Football Playoffs. The main goal of the CFPs, since the first meeting, is to find the 4 BEST teams. Notice how I said best teams, not best record. If the CFP was mainly emphasized on record then why didn’t UCF make it. They haven’t lost in 25 games, but the reason why they aren’t is cause of strength of schedule. Georgia has the hardest schedule in college football. They have played 5 ranked teams according to the week 15 rankings, including number 1 Alabama. If Georgia can lead almost the entire game, and only lose by single digits, doesn’t that make Georgia one of the top 4 teams? Like I said, Georgia played against 5 ranked teams and only lost to 2 of them (1 being number 1 Alabama). Just because Georgia has 1 more lose than Oklahoma, doesn’t mean that Georgia is worse. Georgia is a much better team, and proved that in the SEC championship. Right now, the spread for the 2 semi-finals is -14 Alabama and -11.5 for Clemson. Both of these games are easy wins for the favored teams. If Georgia was in the CFP, Georgia could give either teams a run for their money and provide a great game for anyone watching.
Sugar Bowl
Georgia is now in the Sugar Bowl against Texas (9-4). I feel like Georgia was robbed from a playoff spot, and now their competition isn’t in the Top 10. I was hoping Georgia could get a shot to prove themselves even if they lost to Alabama. Keep an eye out for my Sugar Bowl preview in the upcoming week.
