No.13 Virginia Tech Takes on St. Francis(PA)
No.13 Virginia Tech is coming off a excellent win against Purdue to win the Charleston Classic. While St. Francis is coming off a blowout loss from the hands of No.7 North Carolina and looks to upset Virginia Tech.
How Virginia Tech Can Win:
If Virginia Tech plays how they did versus Purdue, they should blow out the Red Flash. The Hokies do need to limit mistakes and knock down their shots in this game. The Hokies need to limit turnovers also as turning the ball over could create easy opportunities for the Red Flash.
How St. Francis(Pa) Can Win:
If St. Francis wants any chance of winning this game they are going to have to play an almost perfect game to beat the Hokies. Field goal percentage is going to be big for the Red Flash in this game, as in their last game vs North Carolina. St. Francis only shot 34% percent from the field and 34% percent from the three point line. Also the Red Flash are going to have to get rebounds as they got out rebounded 46 to 37 against UNC.
Players to Watch:
Virginia Tech: For me in this game I would like to see how Isaiah Wilkins plays against St.Francis as he had a great debut vs Gardner-Webb and then had a lackluster three games in the Charleston Classic. The Hokies need Wilkins to help make up for the loss of the suspended Chris Clarke.
St.Francis(Pa): The Red Flash need Jammaal King to have another big game against Virginia Tech if they want a chance of winning. The five foot ten King had an outstanding game against UNC as he had twenty one points, three rebounds and one assist. The Red Flash need more of that production from King if they want to win this game.
Score Prediction:
I don’t see the Hokies losing this game to St.Francis. The Hokies have just too much fire power from distance. Jammaal King will have another big game but that won’t be enough for the Red Flash.
Hokies: 90 Red Flash: 65
