Week 13 College Football Picks
Predicting the Winner of every Top 25 Game Week 13
We will be doing game-by-game predictions for every Top 25 team every week and keeping a record of our accuracy. On fire last week hitting on 19 of 21. WVU lost close to a better than advertised Oklahoma State team, and my Syracuse upset pick of Notre Dame went terribly wrong.
Record 150-42 (78%)
6 Oklahoma at 13 WVU
The O/U for this game is set at 81. This game is going to be Grier and Murray chucking 40-yard bombs and seeing who hits more. WVU’s defense has shown more of an ability to make stops they are fortunate enough to be playing at home so give them the edge here. The Big 12 Championship is on the line.
WVU 46-44
11 Florida at Florida State
Florida State beat BC last week and are feeling good for the first time since Francois got hurt early last season. Florida has had some problems but look for them to beat up on their longtime rival.
Florida 31-24
4 Michigan at 10 Ohio State
One of the biggest games of the year. Michigan appears to have the better team, but Ohio State is 3-0 against Harbaugh and at home. Regardless of the score, this is going to be an instant classic. A loss keeps Michigan out of the playoffs and removes the already little chance for Ohio State.
Michigan 24-21
20 Syracuse at Boston College
Both teams are coming of very different losses. If Eric Dungey is healthy this is a tossup, but at the moment he’s questionable so look for BC to capitalize.
Boston College 32-24
24 Pitt at Miami
Pitt is having their best football season in some time now and Miami is having their worst. They have lost a ton of close games and should be considered the favorite here.
Miami 28-24
21 Utah State at 23 Boise State
Unless they’re playing Alabama, betting against Boise State and their defense on the blue turf is burning money. No disrespect to Utah State, but playing at Boise is tough to walk away with a win.
Boise State 27-23
16 Washington at 8 Washington State
Washington State is only pegged as the 3.5-point favorite at home, which seems very low. Does Vegas know something we don’t? Washington has some great prospects on the defensive side of the ball, but I’ll go with the guy that threw for 7 TDs last week.
Washington State 43-31
7 LSU at 22 Texas A&M
Texas A&M almost beat Clemson at home in the beginning of the season, can they handle 2 loss LSU? I’m officially putting LSU on upset watch.
Texas A&M 31-30
14 Texas at Kansas
Kansas is trending upwards. They played well on the road against Oklahoma, add Les Miles next season, and have a legit weapon for the foreseeable future in Freshman Pooka Williams. That being said, Texas is playing for the conference championship and will not allow a repeat of 2016.
Texas 34-17
Maryland at 12 Penn State
Maryland has beaten Texas and been a 2-point conversion away from beating Ohio State. They aren’t the team many expected them to be. With that being said, Penn State at home should take care of business.
Penn State 34-27
Locks:
9 UCF at South Florida
UCF is clinging to any hope that the committee will give them a chance with that 4thspot. They won’t ease up on this solid USF team.
UCF 47-20
Georgia Tech at 5 Georgia
The triple-option is brutal. It may be an annoyance, but Georgia’s defense should contain it and light them up on the other end.
Georgia 37-16
Auburn at 1 Alabama
12-0 on Bama predictions so far this season. Let’s try for 13-0.
Alabama 52-31
Illinois at 19 Northwestern
Illinois just doesn’t have the talent of this Northwestern team. Simple as that.
Northwestern 24-6
South Carolina at 2 Clemson
Clemson has been destroying teams all season, that trend should continue until the playoffs.
Clemson 47-24
15 Kentucky at Louisville
Louisville has entered the competition for worst Power 5 team. I said it. Your move Rutgers.
Kentucky 32-13
3 Notre Dame at USC
USC has been bad this season, but a night game at one of the largest stadiums in CFB could be a recipe for a trap game. Notre Dame embarrassed Cuse last week and should handle business here.
ND 34-24
BYU at 17 Utah
Zack Moss and Utah should have no problem with BYU in a night game at home.
Utah 31-13
Kansas State at 23 Iowa State
Iowa State lost last week but has been a different team since Brock Purdy’s emergence. They should win sizably over KSU.
Iowa State 42-17
