Sooners Best Gators 65-60 IN Battle For Atlantis Quarter-Finals
QUICK RECAP
The Sooners, led by Christian James’s 18 points, outlast the gators in a 65-60 win to open the battle of Atlantis tournament.
After leading by eleven in the first half, Oklahoma’s lead started to slip away when Noah Locke, and Kevaughn Allen both hit three pointers which put Florida in position to tie the game with 15 seconds left. However, Allen missed a shot that could have tied the game, which set up the Sooner’s Aaron Calixte’s two clutch free throws with five seconds left to secure an OU win.
Both teams shot the ball 39% overall, which allowed the game to stay competitive with not one team being ahead by more than eleven at any point during this game. The Sooners prevailed, because they outrebounded the Gators 45 to 30, and sunk the majority of their free throws. While Florida shot 27% on 11 shots from the line, Oklahoma shot 73% with 15 atempts, which included Calixte’s two game-clinching foul shots.
Oklahoma will face off against 25th ranked Wisconsin in the Battle for Atlantis semi-finals tomorrow, 11-22-18 at 12:30 CT.
