Boston College-Florida State Series:
- Game will be at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida
- Game will be at 3:30 PM ET
- Series is led by Florida State 10-5
- Boston College holds current win streak of 1
Offensive Players to watch:
Boston College: Anthony Brown is going to play a bigger role than AJ Dillon will this weekend against Florida State. The Seminoles have given up, on average, 276.5 passing yards a game. If Boston College is going to get it done, it will be through Brown. In addition, Anthony Brown has completed over 50% of all of his throws. Within these completions, Brown has 16 touchdowns and only 5 interceptions. It is more than obvious that Brown has been a driving force for the Eagles and will continue on this road Saturday.
Florida State: Deondre Francois is already an above-average quarterback for the Seminoles, but at home he brings the heat. People need to realize, despite Florida State’s bad year, that they still have a number of great players. Francois is one of them. In this season (at home), Francois has amounted 7 touchdowns and throws an astounding 64.9% completion percentage. Regardless of what Boston College brings, Francois will be ready to sling it.
Defensive Players to watch:
Boston College: Taj-Amir Torres is trending upward now in terms of defensive productivity. Torres is propping up the cornerback position for the Eagles this year and is locking down top wide receivers weekly. On the year, Torres has racked up 38 total tackles, 2 interceptions, and a forced fumble. I don’t know about you, bu those stats are looking favorable against a passing team. Look for Steve Addazio to line up Torres on Florida State’s leading receiver in Nyqwan Murray.
Florida State: DeCalon Brooks is one of the Seminoles most important linebacker this season, even if he is a freshmen. Brooks has learned fast that he must be able to read the offensive backfield for his defense. In doing so, Brooks has checked up 44 total tackles, 3 tackles-for-loss, 1.0 sacks, and a forced fumble. Long listing for a redshirt-freshmen on his second year and just what this Seminole defense needs in order to have a large defensive stand against Boston College.
The Basics:
Florida State is a loss for losing their bowl game streak of 36 years this season. Sorry Seminole fans, it will unfortunately come to an end this weekend. However, it won’t be a blowout. If you look at the stats, Boston College just overtakes the Seminoles in every category. It will do it’s job on Dillon, but there will be their tripping moments in the game. I just think there are too many angles that Boston College can come at Florida State for them to not in. For Florida State, it has to be in their passing game where they shoot 47.4 yards over what Boston College allows. It will be a good game, but the Eagles take it.
Prediction:
30-17 Boston College
