2019 NFL Mock Draft
Draft Picks and Analysis we’re made by Andrew Tineo and RedCup Mitch
As the College Football season starts winding down, College athletes that are expected to play at the next level prepare themselves with the most stressful next 6 months of their lives (outside of the recruiting process from high school). Last draft class’s main headline was the need of QB early as 4 QB’s were taken in the first 15 picks. This year is headlined by fantastic Defensive Lineman with the potential of 4 taken in the first 10 picks. The Draft Order is based on this week’s NFL Power Rankings which is updated as of 11/13 so teams’ picks could move as well as players. You can find our Preseason NFL Mock Draft Here
1. New York Giants- Justin Herbert QB Oregon
Although Eli has the 4th highest passer rating in the league, that doesn’t take away from the fact that he has lead his team to a 1-7 start. With weapons all around him, Herbert should be able to play well in New York.
2. Oakland Raiders- Nick Bosa DE Ohio State
With the recent trades Oakland has made, this draft class will be a huge deciding factor in whether the trades were worth it or not. With Oakland having 3 picks in the first round, they select a monster in Nick Bosa to try and replace Mack.
3. San Francisco 49ers- Ed Oliver DT Houston
San Francisco has had a knack with selecting D-Lineman with the first 5 pick and that tradition continues with Solomon Thomas, Deforest Bucker and now Ed Oliver.
4. Buffalo Bills- Jonah Williams OT Alabama
Buffalo has other issues like QB and Skill Posisiton players, but importatany quality NFL play starts up front with the offensive line and potentially the best one in the draft falls to Buffalo.
5. Arizona Cardinals- Quinnen Williams DT Alabama
With Calais Campbell simply not working out, Arizona goes to the most trust worthy school to produce NFL talent by selecting Williams with back to back Bama picks in the draft.
6. Cleveland Browns- Devin White LB LSU
Cleveland addressed cornerback this past year with Denzel Ward, and has tremendous D-Line play from Myles Garrett. Now with a chance to get a high motor player and a player getting some praise from NFL scouts, Cleveland now has one player on each level of the defense with a bright future and a chance to be elite.
7. New York Jets- Clein Ferrell DE Clemson
Leonard Williams continues to be a bright spot on that defense. and Jamal Adams his a really good player. But Williams needs help and selecting Clein Ferrell will do just that.
8. Denver Broncos- Josh Allen DE/LB Kentucky
Von Miller is not getting much younger and Denver addressed D-Line last year with Bradley Chubb. Matching that with a blend of pass overage as well as getting to the QB is exactly what Denver needs. With Herbert already off the board and not wanting to reach for a QB, Denver takes the safe pick.
9. Indianapolis Colts- Rashan Gary DE/DT Michigan
This is basically the pick they could’ve had last year with Chubb being taken. Now Indy tries it all over again and takes the best defensive lineman in the Big 10 conference.
10. Oakland Raiders- DeAndre Baker CB Georgia
Although Oakland needs more help up front, snagging the best lock down corner in the class will helps Oakland’s defense by quite a bit. Gareon Conley has not worked for them and picking Baker basically will try and make up for that mistake a few years ago.
11. Detroit Lions- Dalton Risner OT Kansas State
Matthew Stafford continues to be one of the most punished QB’s in the NFL. With not much of a need at the skill position, Detroit goes out and gets one of the best OT’s in the draft.
12. Jacksonville Jaguars- Drew Lock QB Missouri
The Blake Bortles experiment in Jacksonville is just about up. Jacksonville selects Drew Lock at 12, but having precaution, knowing his accuracy is an issue. One thing Jacksonville proved last year is that you don’t need above average QB play to make it to the AFC championship game.
13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Zach Allen DE/DT BC
Although CB is a true need with Vernon Haregraves’ injury issues and Brent Grimes isn’t getting any younger. Tampa takes a defensive lineman in an attempt to turn this horrendous defense around.
14. Green Bay Packers- Greedy Williams CB LSU
Trading Damarious Randall in the offseason put GB a bit thin at the position when it came to experience. But still talented with young guys like Jaire Alexander and Josh Jackson. Green Bay snags another as they quietly are building the most prolific young secondary in the NFL.
15. Baltimore Ravens- N’Keal Harry WR Arizona State
Baltimore does have John Brown, but he is not considered to be a number 1 option. And with average to below average talent around him, getting N’Keal Harry will give Joe Flacco and future starter Lamar Jackson another weapon outside.
16. Tennessee Titans- Raekwon Davis DE/DT Alabama
Although Jurrell Casey is a solid player, some youth along the D-Line will help an above average defense. Raekwon Davis continues to impress week after week as is solidifying himself to many draft boards as a first-round talent.
17. Philadelphia Eagles – David Montgomery RB Iowa State
Eagles have struggled this season after their super bowl win and have a variety of unexpected holes. Snatching the best running back in the draft in Montgomery will give Philly’s offense a different dimension that it has not had since prime shady. He was the Top RB on our Big Board, and is a first round talent.
18. Seattle Seahawks – Greg Little OT Ole Miss
Seahawks offensive line is terrible. It has been for some time. Greg Little is a 6’5” 325-pound monster capable of giving Wilson more than 2 seconds to pass and allowing the running back to touch the ball prior to getting tackled. Both things they are currently lacking.
19. Atlanta Falcons – Byron Murphy CB Washington
Desmond Trufant will be 29 at the start of next season, and is the only real impact player in the Falcon’s defensive back corps. Murphy can provide another. Murphy is a smart and fluid player capable of locking down opponent’s top receivers.
20. Miami Dolphins – Dexter Lawrence DT/DE Clemson
Lawrence he has more than enough strength to make an impact on the interior right away and help this surprisingly good Dolphins team make a push at the AFC East next season. At 6’4” and 340 Pounds, he can eat up blocks and make huge impact in against the running game.
21. Minnesota Vikings – Trey Adams OT Washington
The Viking’s offensive tackles are amongst the worst in the league. The 6’7” blocking monster Trey Adams can hopefully solve that. He has NFL athleticism and is one of the smartest tackles in college football. Lateral quickness is a bit of a red flag, but shouldn’t prevent him from having a long NFL career.
22. Washington Redskins – Noah Fant TE Iowa
Jordan Reed is getting older and may never be the player he showed flashes of a few years ago. In comes Noah Fant. Some are calling him the best TE prospect since Vernon Davis in 2006. He isn’t the blocker you’d like out of an athletic freak, but has potential to have a Gronk like impact as a reviever.
23. Cincinnati Bengals – Jeffery Simmons DT Mississippi State
Bengals go with best player available here and grab DT Jeffery Simmons. Simmons anchors what many consider the best defense in the nation at Mis. State and can bull rush QBs at ease. Simmons and Atkins rushing on the interior would be a scary sight.
24. Houston Texans – Deionte Thompson S Alabama
The Texan’s defense is loaded. Let’s make it better with the top safety in the draft in Deionte Thompson. Typical Alabama safety who doesn’t miss tackles and he’s good in coverage. Texans get a winner here.
25. Oakland Raiders – Hakeem Butler WR Iowa State
Raiders got Baker and Bosa to start and need an offensive playmaker. At 6’6” with go-go gadget arms, Butler Mosses Big 12 cornerbacks like it’s his job. His lack of explosiveness is a red flag, but his ability to create leverage is unteachable.
26. Pittsburg Steelers – Jachai Polite DE Florida
Polite projects as a pass rush specialist. When he’s on, he demands 2 blocks at the college level. At only about 6’2” he’s a bit small for an NFL DE, but is an extreme athlete who could be a star if he can consistently apply pressure.
27. Los Angeles Chargers – Brian Burns DE Florida State
Burns is an upside pick to put opposite Bosa. At 6’5” with huge arms and a variety of pass rush moves, Burns has all the potential in the world. At only about 240 pounds, he will need to put on weight to play in the trenches in the NFL.
28. Carolina Panthers – A.J. Brown WR Ole Miss
The Panthers receiving core is rough. They selected D.J. Moore 24thlast season and could use even more fire power around Newton. An offensive corps with Brown, Olsen, Moore, and McCaffrey could be scary.
29. New England Patriots – Will Grier QB WVU
The Patriots need a QB of the future, right? This class’s QB room is a mess, but Will Grier is the most accurate passer in the draft and has a low floor in the NFL. He doesn’t have the arm strength of Herbert or Lock, but he projects as more NFL ready and throws the deep ball as well as anybody.
30. Green Bay Packers – Ben Powers G Oklahoma
Not a sexy pick here but the Packers could use some help on the interior of the offensive line and Powers looks like a Day 1 starter. Investing on your OL and Aaron Rodgers is never a bad bet.
31. Los Angeles Rams – David Sills WR WVU
Kupp had 6 TDs but is now out for the season. Woods and Cooks are some of the fastest receivers in the league, but don’t get in the end zone a ton. Enter David Sills. At 6’4” he is a legit redzone threat who can draw 2 corners and open up lanes for Todd Gurley.
32. Kansas City Chiefs – Bryce Hall CB Virginia
The Chiefs have everything. This will be nothing but a luxury pick. You can never use enough DBs, so they’ll beef up the secondary here. Recruited as a 2-star, Hall was a starter as a freshman and showed great coverage skills in his 3 years. Good size at 6’1” 200 pounds, Hall is surprisingly agile given his size.
