Week 11 College Football Picks for Top 25 Teams
We will be doing game-by-game predictions for every Top 25 team every week and keeping a record of our accuracy.
Record 117-37 (76%)
10 Ohio State at 18 Michigan State
Ohio State has been struggling of late coming off a loss to Purdue, followed by a 5-point win over 2-7 Nebraska. Dwayne Haskins has been good but has certainly dropped off the past two weeks after a hot start, but he’s is still the best player in this game. I don’t see Lewerke keeping up.
Ohio State 31-24
Wisconsin at 20 Penn State
I like this Wisconsin team way too much. Best RB in the nation, Best OL (on paper) in the nation, solid. Why are they so bad? I don’t understand. I give up. Penn State at home, Sagapolu out for the year, and Hornibrook questionable is too much to hang with Wisconsin.
PSU 24-17
8 Washington State at Colorado
Laviska Shenault Jr. is listed as questionable, but his Instagram says otherwise so let’s assume he’s pretty close to 100%. Colorado is 5-1 with Shenault and 0-3 without him. Their defense will need to be better to stop Minshew but I’m taking Colorado here. WSU has back-back 1 score wins over lesser talent. They’re due for an upset.
Colorado 31-29
11 Kentucky at Tennessee
Last week’s loss to Georgia essentially ended Kentucky’s unlikely playoff push, but they are still the 11thbest team in the nation. Tennessee has one good win (Auburn) in 2 years and won’t be able to score on this defense.
Kentucky 20-13
24 Auburn at 5 Georgia
Georgia hosting a night game is not a recipe for success for the opposing team. This Auburn team is nowhere near as talented as Georgia. Auburn’s leading rusher Whitlock is questionable, and Georgia is licking its lips.
Georgia 36-17
19 Texas at Texas Tech
TTU QB Alan Bowman is out. Backup Jett Duffey has been solid, but definitely won’t carry a team to a win. Texas is coming of a thrilling 1-point loss to a very good WVU team and Ehlinger is playing out of his mind.
Texas 37-24
South Carolina at 15 Florida
Felipe Franks got benched. Kyle Trask, who was supposed to be the QB1, is now out for the season. I think Franks comes back revitalized and lights up a very solid South Carolina defense.
Florida 34-24
Northwestern at 21 Iowa
Northwestern has been on a tear in the Big Ten at 5-1, losing only to Michigan. I think Iowa will bounce back from the loss to Purdue and take care of business at home.
Iowa 28-23
Locks:
TCU at 9 WVU
TCU is too beat up to compete here. Their defensive line may keep it within 2-3 scores though.
WVU 45-28
Navy at 12 UCF
Navy has struggled this season, losing to Cincinnati 42-0 last week. This could be rough.
UCF 51-17
16 Mississippi State at 1 Alabama
Alabama shut out LSU away. They’ll be fine at home.
Alabama 38-17
4 Michigan at Rutgers
Don’t let your kids watch this game.
Michigan 63-13
Oklahoma State at 6 Oklahoma
The Over/Under of this game is set at 79. That is Absurd. Oklahoma in a shoutout.
Oklahoma 49-36
Baylor at 22 Iowa State
Baylor has some talent but isn’t on the same level as Iowa State this year.
Iowa State 38-24
Florida State at 3 Notre Dame
Notre Dame is without their starting QB, but Florida State is a dumpster fire at the moment so that probably won’t matter at home.
Notre Dame: 32-17
7 LSU at Arkansas
Could 2 Loss LSU make the CFB Playoffs? Not sure. Can 2 Loss LSU beat Arkansas? Yeah.
LSU 31-17
2 Clemson at 17 Boston College
Clemson is destroying ACC teams with no regard for human life. Can Boston College on Gameday throw them off? Probably not.
Clemson 42-21
