Interview:
Q1: Why South Carolina? What made you choose The Gamecocks?
Ryan’s Response: “South Carolina because it felt like family. I felt genuinely cared for there and felt needed. They also took care of my family. We found a nice house thanks to help from a realtor Coach Muschamp helped us come into contact with. My brother is also heading to South Carolina Medical School. So whenever somebody looks out for my family, that’s a legitimate place I’m interested in and want to be there!”
Q2: Who are you most excited to play with or against at South Carolina?
Ryan’s Response: “I’m most excited to play with a lot of people once I get to USC. To name a few I’d have to say my man Jaycee Horn is a big one, Keveon Mullins, Keshawn Toney, Joseph Anderson and of course Coach Muschamp.”
Q3: Who do you try and model your game after?
Ryan’s Response: “If I were to model my game after a specific quarterback I’d have to go with Matt Ryan. Many people compare us and our attributes and he’s just an intelligent quarterback that has a quick release!”
Q4: What’s the goal for you in your freshman season as a Gamecock?
Ryan’s Response: “My goal as a freshman at USC is to come in and compete to the best of my ability and impress the coaches. I’m coming to make myself and those around me better and that’s my end goal!”
Hilinski finished his high school career with 8102 yards, and 74 passing touchdowns. He will be the highest rated quarterback in the history of this South Carolina program.
