Pac 12 Week 11 Preview
A lot of Pac 12 teams are fighting for bowl eligibility in week 11 as some near bowl teams are fighting for their spots. There is a 3 way tie for the top spot in the Pac 12 South and Washington is trying to keep up with their Brother, Washington State.
UCLA vs Arizona State
With it being the final home game of the year for ASU, it’s also a chance to become bowl eligible on senior night. Arizona State is coming off one of their most impressive games with a combination of dynamic offense and a stout defense limiting Utah to just 20 points. After back to back wins, UCLA has played some tough competition these past 2 weeks and their more than likely wont be another game they’ll be favored in the rest of the year. HB Joshua Kelly has been a real bright spot for UCLA recently and if UCLA can get their run game going, they could put up some points. But with the inconsistency of UCLA’s passing game as well as a pass rush, Arizona State has too much offense as they get bowl eligible and some momentum heading into the final 2 games.

#8 Washington State vs Colorado
The Laviska Shenault effect has been real for Colorado, coming off their 4th straight loss. After back to back single digit losses, Colorado looks to be on the right side of a close affair. Unfortunately for the Buffs, they face the best QB in the conference this year. Gardner Minshew has been obtaining some Heisman campaign and it has been well deserved. He leads the nation in passing yards and completion percentage (minimum 300 pass attempts). He’s top 10 in passing touchdowns and leads the conference in almost every statistical category. With it being in Boulder though, this feels like a game that could be closer than people expect. Considering Colorado has been on a losing streak, it seems unlikely they’ll pull off the upset. Vegas has the line at WSU -6, ill go with the over, but it’s close.

Oregon vs Utah
Probably, the most competitive game on the Week 11 slate, it’s the tale of 2 even teams, going in different directions. Utah is coming off of their first loss since late September on the road to the hands of Arizona State. While Oregon is coming off a 21 point win over UCLA, after dropping their past 2 games prior to the Bruins. This game is big for bowl placement as well as Utah’s top spot in the South division. Oregon is 2 games behind WSU, so their chances of making the Pac 12 title is very unlikely. But ruining another team’s chance of making it might be Oregon’s target at the moment. In a 5:30 EST game, with the home crowd pumped up in a big game, Utah gets it done behind 200+ behind Zack Moss and Tyler Huntley throws 2 TD’s to secure a win in a relatively low scoring game with a lot of yards.

Oregon State vs Stanford
Oregon State came back down to earth this past week after an all time high win over Colorado the week before. USC took care of the Beavers 38-21, as they were not able to do anything on the ground. Stanford is a very similar situation to Oregon as they are just fighting for Bowl eligibility and after words positioning and a loss to Oregon State would deteriorate Stanford’s morale. KJ Costello threw for a near career high 347 yards, but also threw 3 interceptions and no one rushed for more than 75 yards. Although Arcega-Whiteside is the receiver that gets a lot of the attention, Kaden Smith has been quietly the best Tight End in the conference. He has led the team in 6 of the 9 games in receiving yards. Jermar Jefferson will be able to run the ball and Luton will cool off a bit as Costello has big day and gets Stanford their 6th win of the season in convincing fashion.

Cal vs USC
Cal nearly pulled off one of the biggest upsets in the conference. A very impressive defensive performance against the best offense in the conference, limiting them to 19 points and one offensive touchdown. Both teams have a chance of becoming bowl eligible with this game. The question is what kind of offense will we get from Cal? Chase Garbers has shown signs of brilliance, but also times where he looks like a freshman. Patrick Laird has played really well throughout most of the year. Brandon Mcilwain will also get some snaps at some point as he’s looked solid in the games he’s been premiered in. (315 against Arizona and 228 against UCLA). USC comes out with a win with a hostile crowd and a game Cal team on defense. Cal doesn’t do enough on offense and USC picks up win number 6 and stays in the hunt for the Pac 12 title.
