Predicting the Winner of every Top-25 Game Week 10
Pittsburgh at #25 Virginia
Both teams have looked really great as of lately. Virginia is setting up to secure the ACC Coastal with a relatively easy slate of games left. However, we haven’t seen a big ACC upset yet and I think I just may happen. Pittsburgh always is hungry for a big win, I think they get it.
Pittsburgh 29, Virginia 20
#6 Georgia at #9 Kentucky
Georgia is looking to finally capture the SEC East with a win over Kentucky. And Kentucky looks to do the same, but under the guidance of Benny Snell Jr. Both teams bring in tough defenses, but I don’t think Kentucky’s running game will carry them to a victory.
Georgia 27, Kentucky 13
#14 Penn State at #5 Michigan
Michigan has been on a roll after their close loss to Notre Dame earlier in the season. The Wolverines bring in one of the league’s best defenses, if not the best defensive unit. Penn State comes off a two-game win streak and their only loses have come within 4 points. Unfortunately, Michigan’s defense will be too much for Penn State to handle on the road.
34 Michigan, 20 Penn State
#22 Boston College at Virginia Tech
Boston College is on route to make a good ACC Atlantic run against Clemson. If Boston College continues to roll, then they might have a shot at getting Clemson in the ground. Virginia Tech is coming off a rushing defeat against Georgia Tech where they got out-run bad. This week will be a true showing for both teams. Just to simple it down, a triple option is very different than what Boston College runs. I see a NC State-Boston College resemblance.
Virginia Tech 31, Boston College 23
Louisville at #2 Clemson
Clemson is a playoff team and Louisville isn’t. Clemson averages (522.6) offensive yards a game and Louisville just doesn’t. See the pattern here? I like the Tigers by a lot.
Clemson 59, Louisville 13
Nebraska at #10 Ohio State
Nebraska has been a surge to get to a bowl game ever since their (0-6) start. Ohio State is coming off a disappointing loss to Purdue. Nebraska will give a good effort, but they won’t be able to contain Dwayne Haskins and the Buckeye offense. It’ll be good in the beginning, then turn ugly.
Ohio State 48, Nebraska 20
#19 Syracuse at Wake Forest
Wake Forest has been struggling in ACC play this year, but looks to change it this weekend. Syracuse, though, is having a great season with a great win over NC State and a heart-breaker to Clemson. If you sit down and look at the stats on both the teams, you can see that Syracuse’s offense and defense are better than Wake Forest by a comfortable margin.
Syracuse 44, Wake Forest 20
#20 Texas A&M at Auburn
Both teams have had their ups and downs of their seasons, but have a middle-of-the-line SEC conference record. The two sit at (5-3) with their schedule and hope to jump ahead of the other this week. Texas A&M has had a stronger schedule and I think it shows this week.
Texas A&M 35, Auburn 24
#24 Iowa State at Kansas
The Big 12 has had 3 teams run above the all, but no one has really paid attention to the middle. Iowa State is a perfect example of this and will continue to prove people wrong Saturday. Kansas has had some good wins, but I can’t shake the loss to Nicholls State.
Iowa State 41, Iowa State 17
#13 West Virginia at #17 Texas
These two teams have surprised a lot with their run for the Big 12 crown. The winner of this game will most likely go on to take Oklahoma in the Big 12 championship. Personally, I think West Virginia’s offensive dynamic is a lot to handle for teams that can’t produce points like them. Texas is back and will remain at a heightened level, but give me the Mountaineers.
West Virginia 34, Texas 24
#16 Iowa at Purdue
Purdue had a great game against Ohio State that shocked many of the college football world, but then it disappeared when they took on Michigan State last week. Iowa, on the other hand, had kept close games in all of their losses including the close one to Penn State last week. However, Iowa will stomp out these post-upset jitters once more and win.
Iowa 38, Purdue 24
Florida State at #23 NC State
Florida State hasn’t had the season they wanted under Willie Taggart, but that was expect from his first year. NC State looks to catch this fact and use it against the Seminoles. NC State will use Ryan Finley to catch a weak Florida State secondary and get it done. Florida State has to improve quick if they want different outcomes.
NC State 34, Florida State 16
Missouri at #11 Florida
Missouri has had their fair share of close games against great SEC foes. And Florida is coming off of a heart wrenching loss to Georgia that may have cost them the SEC East. The only thing discouraging me from picking a Missouri upset would be how they ended up on all of those close games: with a loss.
Florida 38, Missouri 33
#15 Utah at Arizona State
Arizona State has faced some good teams, but still sit at (4-4) on the year. Their track record against other PAC-12 foes hasn’t been the best, but they will try. Utah will come into this game with having put large scores on decent teams with a chance to do the same Saturday. I think we will seem much of same again from Utah.
Utah 55, Arizona State 24
#4 Notre Dame at Northwestern
Notre Dame is on a playoff run and no one has seemed that they can stop them, but that all changes when they face the Wildcats this weekend. The Irish have knocked off top opponents this team in Michigan, Stanford, and Virginia Tech. These three prove that Notre Dame can face adversity no matter where or who they play. Give me the Irish by a good margin.
Notre Dame 28, Northwestern, 10
LA Tech at #18 Mississippi State
Both teams have a good record and are doing good in conference play. But, this is nothing more than a field day for Mississippi State.
Mississippi State 48, LA Tech 24
#1 Alabama at #3 LSU
This is the game that everyone has been waiting for the whole week. Everyone is anticipating a great matchup in the Saban Bowl, but don’t ge your hopes up too much. I wanted to expect a great game, I really did, but this won’t be that. LSU’s offense won’t keep up with the production of Tua and the Tide.
Alabama 34, LSU 14
#7 Oklahoma at Texas Tech
Do you all remember the Mahomes-Mayfield game from a couple years back? I expect this one to be very similar to that and think i will yield the same results. Give me the Sooner Scooner against the Red Raiders.
Oklahoma 44, Texas Tech 38
#23 Fresno State at UNLV
Fresno State should be the team that people talk about instead of UCF. The schedule is there, as well as the actual play. UNLV hasn’t had a great season and don’t look like they’ll change anytime soon. I like the Bulldogs in this one.
Fresno State 37, UNLV 16
California at #8 Washington State
California knocked off Washington just last week and look to do the same to the other Washington State power. Washington State is looking to remain atop the PAC-12 North and secure a conference title. Give me the Cougars in a iffy one.
Washington State 36, California 20
