Offensive Players to watch:
Missouri: Drew Lock, ever since last year, as been previewed as a potential NFL talent. His uncanny ability to read the field and throw the ball in unbelievable spaces makes him a great quarterback for any team. Lock has tossed up 2,144 passing yards with 16 touchdowns and 6 interceptions to back it up. Lock is always a underrate talent every week and those who pay little attention feel the pressure.
Florida: Lamical Perine is the running back for the Gators this year that has slowly earned his way onto the field. His stats of 438 rushing yards with 3 touchdowns say one thing, but I promise he is much more. Perine also matches up as a receiving threat against defenses. In some games, he has amounted near 100 yards. Watch for the Tigers to keep Perine on lock.
Defensive Players to watch:
Missouri: Terry Beckner Jr. is an absolute freak of nature and must be kept in check. His amazing ability to bully inside linemen and get to the quarterback is among some of the best in the conference. So far, Beckner has lined up 105 tackles and 11.0 sacks. This is a scary number for any offense to see and Missouri must keep the heat coming to pull off the upset.
Florida: C.J. Henderson has been a good fit at corner for the Gators this year and looks to improve weekly. Henderson is a sophomore at Florida and is already looking like future NFL talent. Henderson’s 20 tackles and 1 interception are just what the Gators need to go against Drew Lock. If Henderson can shut down receivers, we can see a big shift in how this game flows.
The Basics:
The Missouri Tigers have lost a handle-full of close games this football season, but look to end it against the Gators. Missouri has a terrible defense. but their offense that averages (469.6) yards a game helps it out. And Florida is looking to bounce back after a trouncing by the hands of Georgia. I like this Missouri team when they get on the road, but their inability to finish close game doesn’t reassure me.
Prediction:
38-33 Florida
