#22 Syracuse at Wake Forest Series:

- Game will start at 12:00 PM ET
- Series is led by Syracuse 4-3
- Wake Forest holds current win streak of 2
Offensive Players to watch:
Syracuse: It is not often that Jamal Custis has an off game for the Orange. Last week would be a perfect example of how well he can do when things start moving. Custis has amounted 672 receiving yards this year on 35 receptions. And to add onto that, the last game that Custis had under 50 receiving yards was 5 weeks ago against UConn. This kid has the potential every week to go off and he just might this week.
Wake Forest: Matt Colburn is an running back that Wake Forest uses quite frequently to balance their passing game. Colburn is a dynamic part of why Wake Forest sometimes catches defenses off-guard. His 2018 season has consisted of 603 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns. Be on the lookout for Wake Forest to try to use this kid more than often to hit a soft spot in the Syracuse defense.
Defensive Players to watch:
Syracuse: It’ll be up to Kielan Whitner to disrupt the outside plays of Wake Forest. Whitner is a senior outside linebacker for the Orange and has displayed a wide array of good games. Whitner has 66 total tackles padded with 1.5 sacks and an interception. Watch for this great player to shut down the outside quickness of this Wake Forest team that likes to use short passes to do their bidding.
Wake Forest: Chris Calhoun will be name that you’ve heard of if you are a close follower of ACC football. His tenure at Wake Forest has been great of recent years for a defensive end. Calhoun has 25 tackles and 2.5 tackles-for-loss on the season. If he keeps up this pace, he might get twice of what he had last year. If Clahoun can bring some outside pressure to Dungey’s passing pocket, it might spell trouble for the Orange.
The Basics:
Both Wake Forest and Syracuse’s offenses have the ability to score big. However, the Orange average 10 more offensive points a game than the Demon Deacons. Also, Syracuse’s defense gives 70 less offensive yards a game than Wake Forest does. And to take into account that Syracuse is coming off of two good wins against tough teams, I find it hard to pick against them. Wake Forest will keep it interesting, but not interesting enough.
Prediction:
44-20 Syracuse
