#14 Penn State at #5 Michigan
#14 Penn State at #5 Michigan Series:
- Game will be at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Michigan
- Game will start at 3:45 PM ET
- Series is led by Michigan 13-8
- Penn State holds current win streak of 1
Offensive Players to watch:
Penn State: Trace McSorely has been the key to the Nittany Lions success this year. When McSorely does good, the team does good. McSorely currently holds 1,628 passing yards on the year accompanied by 12 passing touchdowns. I see Penn State using him as and relying on him as they do every week.
Michigan: I know everyone wants me to pick Shea Patterson, but I am going with Karan Higdon this week. Higdon’s ability to bring the defense back in for Shea Patterson is undeniable. Many defenses look over this threat of a running back that has amounted 831 rushing yards this year. If Penn State focuses too much on Patterson, then Higdon will have a field day on the Lions.
Defensive Players to watch:
Penn State: Amani Oruwariye will be a key component in the Penn State defense this Saturday. Oruwariye is a corner for the defense in State College and will look to prevent Shea Patterson’s ability to throw on everyone. This players ability to keep with receivers and prevent the catch has become a staple of his game. If Oruwariye doesn’t have a good game, it means the worst for the Nittany Lions.
Michigan: Chase Winovich needs to get to McSorely to give Michigan the win. Winovich is a problem for any defense he goes up against. He likes to cut inside and beat you physically, which Penn State has struggled with a bit this year. Let’s see what Winovich and the rest of the Michigan defensive line can do against Penn State.
The Basics:
Penn State averages a large stature of 41-points a game. This would prove to be a great stat against any other team, except Michigan. Michigan has a top-3 defense in the nation and maybe even the best. I think both teams will have a relatively good game, but Michigan will come up in all the right times.
Prediction:
34-20 Michigan
