Game Run Down
It was a classic game in the Big Ten. A rainy Happy Valley set the scene for an ugly, sluggish game for both offenses. Nate Stanley had his worst game of the season, as his top target Noah Fant was completely shut down. Trace McSorely had to fight through an early injury and missed a couple of drives, but per usual, the savvy veteran fought his way back into the game and led multiple scoring drives in the second half to take a lead. The Penn State offense got rolling in the second half, and the Hawkeyes couldn’t get anything going all day. PSU stayed in the hunt for a New Year’s Six Bowl game with a win here, as they now set up a huge game with Michigan next week. Iowa on the other hand still has a couple of big games against Purdue and Northwestern approaching, so the Big Ten West is still there for the taking.
