Big 12 & Big East announce A 4-Year Series
There have been rumors swirling around that the Big 12 is seriously considering creating another scheduling series with another conference to compliment the Big 12/SEC Challenge they do every year right in the middle of conference play. Today, they confirmed they are scheduling a series with the Big East.
It will begin next year and will run through all the way till 2022-2023. This series won’t be played at home sites. Whichever team is the home team will be played in their local market and there will be an equal amount of teams from each conference will host these with 5 from the Big East and 5 from the Big 12. The two conferences will come together and determine the matchup each year, and each team will play four times over the next 4 years.
This is great for both conferences as both are among the best conferences in all of College Basketball, with the Big 12 putting 7 teams in the NCAA Tournament last year and the Big East having 6 going dancing a year ago. Potential Matchups like, Villanova vs. Kansas, Xavier vs. West Virginia, and Butler vs. Texas creates a ton of intrigue and will boost each conferences resume for NCAA Tournament. It also creates more excitement for each fanbase and for College Basketball fans all-around.
