Offensive Players to watch:
Maryland: Kasim Hill is the starting QB for the Terrapins and he must be on point for Saturday. Hill currently has 654 passing yards with only 6 touchdown passes. However, the actual playing of Hill would tell you a whole different story. The passing rate of Kasim Hill is usually great almost every game, except against a top defense in Michigan. Look for Hill to play hard and smart.
Iowa: Nate Stanley is a great passer for Iowa and his stats back it up. Stanley has 1,473 passing yards with 15 passing touchdowns. Many defenses know that Iowa will end up passing in game, but this still doesn’t slow down Stanley. This Saturday look for Stanley to air it out against this mediocre Maryland pass defense.
Defensive Players to watch:
Maryland: With a name of Darnell Savage Jr, this Maryland safety’s name is a telling sign of his playing. Darnell Savage is a senior FS for the Terrapins and provides a good safety net for the passing game. His ability to read a quarterback from so far is an asset that Maryland uses a lot. Let’s see if Savage can shut down big plays for the Hawkeyes.
Iowa: The Hawkeyes will look for Parker Hesse to blast off the line and pressure the Maryland backfield. Hesse has proved his worth to this team this year with great performances against Wisconsin and Minnesota. If Hesse can keep us his great playing style, we will see little scoring from the Terrapins.
The Basics
These two teams have the ability to give great games to great teams. We see that Iowa can consistently put up points on all types of defenses. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for Maryland. Maryland can give a good fight, bu their inconsistency that we don’t see in Iowa will be there downfall.
