#16 NC State at #3 Clemson
#16 NC State at #3 Clemson Series:
- Game will be at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina
- Game will start at 3:30 PM ET
- Clemson leads series 58-27-1
- Clemson holds current win streak of 6
Offensive Players to watch:
NC State: Kelvin Harmon has been a great receiver for Ryan Finley this year and I sure don’t think he is stopping this weekend. Harmon has 534 yards on 33 receptions this year for NC State. This has proved to be of valuable stature for the Wolfpack, in that their sole offensive identity has been passing. I think Clemson will keep a sharp eye on Harmon to ensure their defense doesn’t have to worry too much.
Clemson: He’s back on the list with a purpose, Travis Etienne. I really had Etienne on my radar going into the season, knowing that Clemson had to develop a better run game. And to say the least, this kid has not disappointed at all. Etienne has 761 rushing yards on only 83 carries, which poses a question for NC State: Can they stop the run?
Defensive Players to watch:
NC State: Darian Roseboro is an elusive Defensive End for the Wolfpack. Roseboro provides a very difficult pass rush on the outside for offensive linemen to stop. Roseboro has recorded 17 tackles this year and looks to add a whole lot more this weekend.
Clemson: Trayvon Mullen will provide a buffer in between the NC State receivers and “home run” plays. Mullen provides a good cushion on the Clemson defense when it comes to the passing game. He doesn’t have too many tackles on the year, but that may just speak for itself when it comes to defending a pass.
The Basics:
NC State and Clemson are both undefeated, but there are some things that separate them. First off, the strength of both teams schedules have a significant difference. Clemson has faced teams like Texas A&M and Syracuse, while NC State has taken on Boston College and UVA. And plus, I am thoroughly convinced that NC State dodged a loss with the cancellation of the West Virginia game. Another element you can see is the amount of points being scored on who and that really helps pick out a winner.
Prediction:
43-27 Clemson
