Michigan State Upsets Penn State On Late Felton Davis TD
Many times this season, MSU has been labeled as a disappointment. And after last weeks home loss against Northwestern, it seemed like everyone was jumping off the Spartan bandwagon.
However, Mark Dantonio continued to trust in his team. Dantonio knew that it wouldn’t be easy to take down #8 Penn State in Beaver Stadium.
After a failed fake field goal attempt it looked as if the final nail had been drilled into the coffin of the Spartans, but just like their head coach, the Spartans had no quit in them. Down 17-14 with just over a minute left to play, Brian Lewerke drove MSU 76 yards in 1:00 to take the lead on a Felton Davis back-shoulder catch.
Because of this win, Michigan State is able to keep themselves in the hunt for a Big Ten title. Next week the Spartans will host in-state rival Michigan.
After the loss, Penn State and James Franklin will be searching for answers. The Nittany Lions fall to 1-2 in the Big Ten and 4-2 overall.
