Michigan Routes Wisconsin Behind Shea Patterson’s Stellar Performance
Wisconsin and Michigan entered this prime-time game with it basically being an elimination game for the College Football Playoff. Both Michigan and Wisconsin had one loss heading into this Big Ten match-up.
Wisconsin was able to challenge Michigan in the first half, but the physicality of the Michigan offense and defensive line eventually wore down the Badgers. On the defensive side of the ball, Michigan was able to constantly put pressure on Badger QB, Alex Horinbrook. Because of the constant pressure, Hornibrook was forced into one of the worst games of his career. The Junior from West Chester PA completed only 7 passes on 20 attempts for 100 yards. By far this was Alex Hornibrook’s worst game as a Badger.
On the other side of the ball, Shea Patterson and the Michigan offense picked apart the Badger defense. Patterson passed for 124 yards and, more importantly, Patterson rushed 90 yards and a TD.
Overall this was just a dominating performance by Michigan. The Wolverines dominated Wisconsin in all aspects of the game.
With the win, Michigan keeps themselves in the College Football Playoff conversation. Jim Harbaugh’s team improves to 6-1 with the victory. Things wont get any easier for Michigan. Next week they will travel to East Lansing to take on Michigan State.
After the ugly loss, Wisconsin falls to 4-2. Next up the Badgers will take on Illinois at home.
