What Can We Expect From Kentucky In the 2018-19 Season?
On Friday, Kentucky held their annual “Big Blue Madness.” Wildcats head coach, John Calipari calls the event “the best tradition in College Basketball” . Calipari had some evidence to back up that bold claim. 20,000 Kentucky fans filled Rupp Arena to get a brief look at the young Wildcats. And these fans got to take a look at one of the best teams in all of College Basketball.
Kentucky’s 2018 recruiting class features insane talent. This season coach Cal brings in, Keldon Johnson, Immanuel Quickley, Ashton Hagans, and Tyler Herro. Every single one of these recruits brings something to the table. Lets take an in-depth look at each one of these new Cats.
Keldon Johnson: Keldon Johnson may be the most talented out of all of these young Wildcats. Johnson enters this season as the 4th ranked SF in his class. Johnson is a physical player who is also able to hit a jumper when necessary. Keldon Johnson will be the most important player on this team.
Immanuel Quickley: Immanuel Quickley will most likely be the starting point guard for this years team. Quickley is not a prolific scorer, however, he is a speedy playmaker who rarely turns the ball over. Last year, Kentucky struggled to find a true PG to run the show, this year the choice is obvious.
Ashton Hagans: Hagans, like Quickley does now “wow” you with his scoring ability. But also like Quickley, Hagans is an efficient guard who doesn’t make many mistakes.
Tyler Herro: Out of all the Freshman on this Kentucky team, Tyler Herro is by far the best shooter. Herro offers a smooth jumper that is practically unarguable. Once Herro catches fire, watch out.
All of these Freshman are set to have a terrific season, but they wont have to do it themselves. Kentucky returns P.J Washington and Quade Green from last seasons team. In addition to these players, UK adds former Stanford standout, Reid Travis.
Kentucky has the most talented roster in all of College Basketball. With John Calipari leading them into battle, nobody will want to see these Wildcats lineup across from them.
