The Hokies of Blacksburg added their 17th commitment from the c/o 2019 with four-star athlete J.R. Walker of Clayton, North Carolina.
Walker is the 314th overall player, 17th overall ATH, and 13th overall player from NC. The 6’1” 205 pounder chose Tech over offers from N.C. State and others.
Walker joins three-star receiver Elijah Bowick as the two Virginia Tech recruits from the state of North Carolina.
This commitment jumps the Hokies to No. 29 in the recruiting rankings, hopping over TCU after having been previously ranked 30th.
